We’re incredibly proud to announce that our Provincial Coordinator, Tsungai (Tsue) Muvingi Van Landeghem, has been named Advocate of the Year at the Purple Ribbon Awards—an international honour presented by DomesticShelters.org and Alliance for HOPE International.
This award recognizes community-based or system-based advocates who work tirelessly to champion the needs of domestic violence survivors. Honorees in this category demonstrate outstanding commitment to improving support structures, influencing systemic change, and advocating for essential resources that uplift and empower those affected by abuse.
Tsue is the embodiment of this award. Her leadership in Manitoba has been instrumental in building stronger networks of care, securing vital services for shelters and survivors, and amplifying the voices of those too often silenced. Her work bridges gaps across communities, government, and service providers—always with survivors at the heart of every conversation.
We couldn’t think of a more deserving recipient of this international recognition. Please join us in congratulating Tsue on this remarkable and well-earned honour. Her advocacy is making a real and lasting difference.
